Aramic Winery – Where Tradition Meets Passion

Founded in 2010 by father and son, Adam and Cosmin Crăciunescu, Aramic Winery is a young, privately-owned Romanian venture with deep roots in the Silagiului region of Timiș County. Driven by their passion for vineyards and wine, they set out to revive a local tradition that had been dormant for over three decades.

From reestablishing noble grape varieties between 2010 and 2012, to producing their first wine in 2015 with a state-of-the-art bottling line, Aramic Winery has grown with dedication and vision. By 2020, a modern tasting and events space was completed, perfectly complementing the winery’s administrative complex.

Today, we open our doors to friends—those who come to experience the unique charm of Aramic Winery, savoring not only our wines but also the stories and traditions behind them. Welcome, and let the aroma of fine wine guide your journey.

TERROIR

Silagiu is a Romanian settlement, first documented in 1406 under the name Zyluas. The village lies 4 km south of the town of Buziaș, at the northwest foot of Silagiului Hill, at an average altitude of 128 meters. The Silagiului area is part of the five main wine-producing regions of Banat, reaching a maximum altitude of 324 meters. The climate here is ideal for viticulture, giving the grapes a unique flavor found nowhere else.

Aramic Winery is the Phoenix that writes a new chapter in the history of this blessed land.

Cultivated Varieties

Aramic Winery spans 46 hectares of vineyards planted with noble grape varieties—four white and four red: Sauvignon Blanc, Fetească Albă, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească Neagră, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.

Sauvignon Blanc

Originating from the Bordeaux region of France, Sauvignon Blanc has spread across the globe, from California in the United States to the fertile soils of Banat. This grape is known for its distinctive personality, marked by vibrant acidity and a pronounced aroma. Its characteristics develop over a longer period, one to two years after harvest. However, its true essence emerges after several years of aging in specialized vessels, barrels, and bottles, when its flavor and bouquet take on notes reminiscent of cantaloupe.

Fetească Albă

Fetească Albă thrives in temperate climates, which is why the Banat region is already renowned for cultivating this variety. Its natural acidity is beautifully balanced by the subtle sweetness characteristic of these grapes. The resulting wine captivates with its natural elegance, enhanced by delicate floral notes that evolve into aromas of apricot and fresh hints of citrus. Its gentle fragrance pairs perfectly with dishes of fish or white meat.

Muscat Ottonel

The echo from the French vineyards reaches all the way to Romania: over 8,000 hectares of land are devoted to Muscat Ottonel cultivation, delighting both connoisseurs and wine enthusiasts with its distinctive aroma. A special characteristic of this grape variety is its fragrance and flavor, which develop after a brief aging process, resulting in a very complex bouquet with a delicate and refined taste.

Chardonnay

Chardonnay is one of the most celebrated wines worldwide, and the cultivation of the grapes that perfect its taste has a rich and storied history. It is said that the Gouais Blanc variety from the Balkans, which crossed with the original species, was brought to France by Romanians. Exceptionally refined and discreet, Chardonnay is a wine that matures beautifully in the bottle, developing a velvety, smooth bouquet with subtle floral notes. It is best served chilled, paired with fish and seafood dishes.

Merlot

The finest Merlot vineyards on the terraces of Silagiului Hill produce exceptionally high-quality red wines. Aramic’s Merlot boasts a deep red color with violet hues and subtle notes of maturation. With a generous structure and excellent aging potential, this classic wine entices with sweet-and-sour aromas of cherries, forest red fruits, and a hint of freshness. Flavors of blackberries, ripe cherries, and dark chocolate blend harmoniously with the richness of soft tannins. A classic wine with remarkable depth and aging potential, Aramic’s Merlot is a mature wine that invites celebration.

Fetească Neagră

One of the few Dacian grape varieties still cultivated today, Fetească Neagră rivals Cabernet Sauvignon in distinction and elegance. Its vigorous grapes are resilient to a variety of weather conditions. Perhaps the most recognizable Romanian wine, it is celebrated for its intense and sophisticated aroma, highlighted in its dry wine texture. Distinctive notes of subtle smokiness blend with hints of cherry, creating a refined and memorable flavor profile.

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir originates from the Côte d’Or region in France and is distinguished by two unique characteristics: its age, dating back over 2,000 years, and the grape’s genetic instability. Exposure to diverse weather conditions influences the flavor of each harvest, making it a challenging variety to grow and maintain even for the most experienced vintners. The wine’s aroma evolves over time, presenting red fruit notes in its youth, and developing complexity as it matures, with hints of raisins, tobacco, and black pepper. A refined, full-bodied, smooth wine with a ruby color of moderate intensity, Pinot Noir is difficult to define, and its cultivation process makes it one of the most prized and expensive wines in the world.

Based on these noble grape varieties, Aramic Winery produces 14 types of wine, grouped into four collections:
